My 2-year-old just went into a twin bed from her crib on 3/11/06. Her crib does convert to a toddler bed, but we decided to put her into a twin bed. The transition went smoothly. We tried it with her afternoon nap, and she had no trouble falling asleep.
As of right now, she is sleeping her second night in the bed. She got excited about sleeping in the "big bed". She is always telling us she wants to sleep in Mommy and Daddy's big bed, but that is not going to happen! I tried it once when she was sick, and she didn't fall asleep until 5 a.m. I, however, got no sleep that night.
I put Backyardigans bedding on her bed from Linens and Things. She also has a stuffed Pablo to sleep with. Here are some pics.
